The Second Article of the Creed, Part 4: From thence he will come to judge the living and the dead. 

What does this mean?

I believe that Jesus Christ…is my Lord…that I may be His own and live under Him in His kingdom and serve Him in everlasting righteousness, innocence, and blessedness, just as He is risen from the dead, lives and reigns to all eternity. This is most certainly true.

Collect for the Fifth Sunday after the Epiphany

O Lord, keep Your family the Church continually in the true faith that, relying on the hope of Your heavenly grace, we may ever be defended by Your mighty power; through Jesus Christ, Your Son, our Lord, who lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever.

Prayer based on the Second Article Part 4 of the Creed[1]

Graciously hasten the coming of that day. Bless and prepare us with wisdom and strength that we may walk wisely and uprightly in the meantime. May we joyfully await the coming of Your dear Son and depart blessed from this valley of misery. Amen. (Martin Luther, 1483-1546)

Bible Verses for Meditation on The Second Article of the Creed, Part 4

-Have this mind among yourselves, which is yours in Christ Jesus, who, though he was in the form of God, did not count equality with God a thing to be grasped, but emptied himself, by taking the form of a servant, being born in the likeness of men. And being found in human form, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death, even death on a cross. Therefore God has highly exalted him and bestowed on him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philippians 2:5-11
